Orion Print approached us when they stopped seeing results from their previous agency. Whilst their product and service offering is very niche, they wanted to upgrade their digital strategy to amplify their online presence.
Their website needed a lot of layout updates to make it SEO-friendly and support the quality content that they wanted to display for their users. We advised on the best approach and which channels we believed would be most beneficial. We worked closely with their in-house team to provide a full-service solution to their digital needs.
As with all our digital marketing retainers, we jumped straight into an in-depth research period to explore the website offering and competitive landscape. Their pages were badly formatted and lacked key information that was vital for converting customers. Their keyword rankings were poor for their key services, whilst their previous agency had gained rankings for keywords that weren’t converting.
The research phase consisted of a thorough website audit, competitor analysis, keyword research and link audit. We discovered that technical SEO aspects had been completely overlooked and several quick win opportunities hadn’t been utilised.
Armed with deep understanding of their current positioning, industry landscape and key focus areas, we got to work creating a multi-channel approach. They had a small in house team available to assist with tasks such as organic social media, so we created a consultancy plan to ensure they were getting the most from their efforts.
We also decided to create an in-depth SEO strategy, also incorporating elements of UX and CRO. We initially held off on PPC due to the large number of amends needed to make the website user friendly.
With our multi-channel approach created, it was time to get to work implementing our new data-driven strategy.
After collaborating with the client, they agreed to invest in new website templates to support the growth of their online efforts. We designed and developed new landing page formats designed to support SEO growth whilst improving UX and CRO.
We started with SEO basics that had been previously overlooked, sorting out technical SEO issues and improving website health. We did a complete review of current meta data, website content and supporting images, finding lots of quick win opportunities for relevant traffic growths along the way.
All website content was rewritten, with new landing pages added to address different uses for their core products inline with the keyword research. We also implemented a thorough blogging and content strategy to boost supporting keywords and relevant questions from their target audience.
Before we even set the new landing page formats live, through basic optimisation we saw a 73% uplift in organic traffic. Through our consultation with their in-house team, the results from their efforts had also increased with social media engagement up 46%. Importantly, both the number and quality of conversions now coming in had also improved significantly.
All our digital marketing retainers include monthly reports, and we decided to introduce weekly calls to allow us to be as proactive and collaborative as possible. Using the data collected and the feedback from the Orion Print team, our results only got better. We saw improvements every single month for several years following the implementation of our digital marketing strategy.

Over the last year, we have further increased Orion’s online enquiries by 276%. This includes a 140% rise in Organic Conversions, as well as introducing new PPC campaigns that are further supporting their online growth strategy.
Branded searches for Orion are up by 174%. We have worked on brand building campaigns since the start of our digital partnership. With hands-on consultancy, their social media following has grown significantly which has supported this uplift.
Orion Print noted that they were getting much more for their money since switching to us from their previous agency. The cost of the retainer was the same, but the results have skyrocketed and the number and quality of the enquiries now coming in dramatically increased the ROI.
Orion were ranking for 867 keywords, 38 of which were positioned on page 1 of the SERPs. Most of these keywords were low value and didn’t convert well after users landed on the website. As of now, Orion has 1,449 ranked keywords, with 110 of these on page 1. This is an 189% increase in page 1 rankings.
