We’ve been A1 Security Print’s digital partner for the last 3 years. During that time, we’ve transformed their online presence, expanded their organic reach and helped them secure contracts worldwide.

 

Whilst their old website served them well, it was time to upgrade to better reflect their innovative services and products. Our primary goal during this web design and development project was to solidify their position as security print experts, showcase their international capabilities, and expand their reach to new markets.

The Web Design Process

After our website kick-off meeting with A1 Security Print, our web designer got to work creating a sleek, modern design that reflected their brand while providing a more in-depth overview of their work. As a company that primarily serves government agencies, healthcare services, and educational awarding bodies, the website needed to ooze professionalism.

 

The design needed to be visually appealing, SEO-friendly, and optimised for user experience (UX) and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).

The old homepage was concise but lacked opportunities for conversions, as there were no contact forms. We wanted to showcase the sectors A1 Security Print serves. On the new homepage, we divided their products and services into four main sections for easier navigation and product discovery.

 

We also included a prominent, uncluttered section highlighting their trustworthiness and experience, such as years in business and countries of operation. To facilitate conversions, we added a large contact form section.

The Web Development Process

This custom-coded web development project ensured the bespoke web design was achieved, as well as ensuring the website’s longevity and adaptability. With a custom-coded solution, we can make seamless future modifications and optimisations without compromising the integrity of the website.

 

By using custom fields in the website’s backend, we created a user-friendly interface for managing and updating website content. This flexibility empowers the client to make changes efficiently, keeping their online presence current and relevant.

 

Throughout the project we focused on page speed and functionality, to ensure we could achieve the UX and SEO results the client desires. Clean code aids website performance, so custom building the website was the perfect solution. The result is a website that’s both functional and intuitive, providing a seamless user experience.

 

Security was a big focus during the development project. The client was awarded a Cyber Essentials Plus certification, so the new website needed to be in line with those high cyber security standards. We implemented robust security measures to protect the website and user data, safeguarding the client’s online reputation.

 

Part of the security updates on the new website included moving them onto a secure WordPress server. This will ensure optimal website performance and uptime, whilst safeguarding the client’s website from hackers.

 

To monitor the performance of the website post-launch, we set up tracking through Google Tag Manager (GTM), allowing us to gain valuable insights into website performance and user behaviours. This allows us to comprehensively track sessions, conversions and other key metrics, allowing us to make data-driven decisions moving forward.

 

The final part of the build was ensuring compliance with data policies and cookie laws. We included clear policies on the website to demonstrate the client’s commitment to user privacy and transparency.

 

Website Content and Population

The client played a pivotal role in creating the website content, ensuring alignment with Google’s E-E-A-T guidelines for quality signals. By sharing their expert insights into security printing, they provided unique, thorough, and helpful content for users.

 

The A1 Security Print team collaborated with our SEO specialists to structure the copy effectively and address potential user questions about their services and products.

 

We worked with the client to obtain high-quality images of their previous and ongoing projects.  This allowed us to use unique images across the website that better reflect the quality of their work, rather than using stock images that didn’t showcase their unique capabilities.

 

Our team then populated the website, ensuring the content was well-structured and optimised. Internal linking was implemented to enhance user experience and SEO.

Website Optimisation

Pre-Launch SEO

Before launching the website, we optimised meta titles, descriptions, ALT tags, and URLs for each page to improve search engine visibility. A thorough technical SEO audit was conducted to identify and address any potential issues that could hinder the website’s performance.

 

To preserve existing SEO rankings, we implemented redirects from old URL structures to the corresponding pages on the new website. Internal links were strategically placed to enhance user navigation and improve search engine discoverability.

 

Post-Launch SEO

After launching the website, we submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console to expedite indexing and improve search engine visibility. A robots.txt file was created to control web crawlers and prevent unwanted access to specific pages.

 

We analysed and optimised conversion paths to ensure a smooth user journey and maximise conversions. Additionally, heat mapping software was used to identify areas where users may encounter difficulties and make necessary improvements.

 

On-going optimisations

To maintain optimal SEO and user experience, we will continue to monitor the website’s performance and make adjustments as needed. Regular content updates will keep the website fresh and relevant. Periodic technical SEO audits will help identify and address any emerging issues. Gathering user feedback will allow us to understand their needs and preferences and make improvements accordingly.
